More than 'troubled' THQ filed for bankruptcy protection in the USA yesterday (as reported here) and inside its filing lurked a number of gaming properties that we hope will see the light of day.The Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection filing is ideally put in place in the States to enable companies to restructure and get themselves and their employees back on their feet. In this case, this looks unlikely given that an investment firm has already swooped for THQ's available assets, including IP.
The CH11 document has been
lodged with the United States Bankruptcy Court, District of Delaware, is pithy. and features the yet to be seen titles and properties.
* "Vigil Games, the THQ-owned studio behind the
Darksiders has the working title "Crawler'" in development.
*
Left 4 Dead co-developer Turtle Rock Studios has a co-op action IP with the working title "Evolve", the title was trademarked by THQ.
* Warhammer 40k and Company of Heroes titles dev Relic has something called 'Atlus' on the go.
* THQ Montreal, now lead by
Assassin's Creed creative lead Patrice Désilets, has a title called "1666" which THQ trademarked in March.
