Rumour: Ouya to Partner With OnLive Cloud Gaming Service
Deal already signed, apparently.
With Sony acquiring Gaikai, it looks like the other big name in cloud gaming has found itself a home too. A rumour is circling the interweb that OnLive is to partner up with crowd-funded Android console, Ouya.
According to a report on CVG, "the partnership between the companies has already been signed and specifics of the deal could be revealed in the next 24 hours."
OnLive general manager Bruce Grove would not confirm or deny the rumour. But he did suggest that it would be nice if a cloud-based gaming service was to feature on Ouya. Hmmmmmmmm.
"If you give people an easy way to connect, essentially bring connected TVs together, then that's another content outlet," he said. "If Ouya comes along and connects to your TV and suddenly puts games in front of people in an easy way and makes it low friction, that's going to attract a new market."
