We have discovered that Square Europe is currently putting the finishing touches to a secret project known as Final Fantasy History. The entirety of Square’s European operation, is in an editing suite at a secret location in Soho London working on a film project at some time.
Although the company, quite startled that we had uncovered its secret project, was unwilling to fill in the gaps, educated speculation hints towards a TV special of some kind, most probably a “creation, overview and evolution of the series” affair.
By the way, do you know the reason that Final Fantasy is called Final Fantasy? Series creator Hironobu Sakaguchi, following a string of relatively ill-fated releases, declared that he was getting sick of making games that were not getting the recognition they deserved and would make only one more. So he named the project Final Fantasy. Ironic huh?
