Sony Computer Entertainment of Japan has announced a deal with NTT Broadband, a division of the Japanese telecoms giant, to deliver a dedicated network for PlayStation 2 users, mirroring the deal Sony Europe recently inked with TeleWest.
The deal will see domestic users of the console, (is there any other type of user?) connected to online gaming fora and other Internet services. Full details of what the system will offer are due to be released by Sony in February of next year.
A dedicated fat-pipe network in Japan eh? That’s old hat to us Charlie!
