An interesting report in the South China Morning Post, has stated that Microsoft has no plans to release the Xbox in Hong Kong or mainland China, due to piracy fears in the region.
The report, refuted by Microsoft representatives in the region, went on to say that Microsoft is keen to avoid software piracy, due to the massive losses it is shouldering in the production of Xbox hardware.
It is a widely recognised fact that China is the global heartland of console piracy.
The report also said that Microsoft officials were livid at the fact that Chinese pirates released an illegal version of Windows XP before the official software had been released.
