Nintendo’s 3DS saw a massive sales resurrection in the Japanese Video Game Hardware Chart this week (courtesy Media Create, week ending 14th August 2011), proving that the price is finally right for gamers to dive into the new handheld. It follows a week of dismal sales as consumers waited for the official price cut to take effect.

It’s been a generally positive week for the hardware sector all around, as many platforms see slight gains - sales of the PSP 3000 have increased by 5,000 units, while the PS3 and Wii enjoy similar lifts. The PSP Go has been re-animated after its mechanical heart stopped beating for a week, and the DS Lite model looks like it will soon fall into the same doldrums as it falls below the sub-100 units mark.
