Sony is expected to unveil a new version of the PSP AND a PlayStation-themed smartphone capable of playing games if recent sources are to be believed.
According to Bloomberg, "Sony Corp. plans to unveil an updated PlayStation Portable handheld game device on Jan. 27, followed by a game-playing smartphone in February, according to two people with knowledge of the plans."
However, Sony's Senior Director, Corporate Communications & Social Media at Sony Network Entertainment (phew!), Patrick Seybold, refused to confirm if the January 27th briefing will definitely include an announcement of either of the devices. However it would not be a surprise with recent confirmation of the PSP2 mere days ago if one or both of Sony's latest offerings were to be displayed at the upcoming events.
