Developer of the Gears of War series, Epic Games, is due to reveal a new project in development at the Game Developers Conference early next year.Speaking with American magazine EGM, Epic's Cliff Bleszinski explained that everyone should keep their "eyes peeled at GDC" regarding the company's new IP. He also added that the lead designer on title
Prototype, Eric Holmes, would be working on the project. The game had been Bleszinski's own idea originally but has become more Holmes' own project recently due to his involvement.
Bleszinski gave further details on the upcoming IP, saying:
"I believe game designers are the Stan Lees and Jack Kirbys of our day, and we're creating these universes that leave a huge impact on people. Gamers vote with their dollars and they often like established IP, but those IPs came from somewhere, right?
Call of Duty was crafted by the original Medal of Honor guys.
Gears of War was crafted by the original
Unreal Tournament guy. I look forward to creating what's next."
Watch out for the revealing of Epic Games' new IP when GDC 2011 takes place from February 28th-March 4th next year.
