Panasonic Begins User Testing of Jungle Handheld
Panasonic's gallant re-entry into the portable gaming market, codenamed Jungle, is about to see some consumer testing in the United States.

An email was sent to various registered customers from one Panasonic Cloud Entertainment Company regarding the testing of the Jungle device. “We know other companies out there have traditional hand- held gaming covered,” the company said in the email. “We’re doing something very different.”

The existence of the email was confirmed by company spokesman Akira Kadota, but no further details were offered regarding launch date and price.

As we reported in October, the Jungle will have an MMO gaming slant and will feature a touchpad and keyboard. Do you think the device will do well, considering Panasonic's last effort in the market was the 3DO? Let us know, below.

Panasonic was just a manufacturer of the 3DO system, not exclusively linked to the format. JVC and Goldstar also made 3DO devices.
