Sony Slashing PSP Go in Japan
In an attempt to boost sales of the ailing PlayStation Portable Go, Sony has announced that it will be cutting the price by a hefty 37% to Y16,800 ($208) in Japan.

The WSJ reports that, "The Japanese price cut of the PSP Go, effective Tuesday, comes more than a week after Sony lowered the device's price in the U.S. by $50 to $199.

"Sony is targeting sales of 8 million PSP units--including the PSP Go--in the current fiscal year to March 2011, after selling 9.9 million units in the previous business year."

Still not low enough... It's a five year old product that is going to be replaced shortly, and the sales of which have never been stellar. It faces increasing competition from smartphones and tablets. It needs to be below $149, £100.
