The PSP dominates the Japanese Hardware Chart this week (23rd - 29th August 2010, courtesy Media Create), thanks to some timely new releases in Capcom's Monter Hunter and Namco Bandai's Ace Combat series. The 3000 model has outsold all of Nintendo's DS sales combined.

(Previous week's unit sales in brackets for comparison)
The PSP series is the only format to actually sell more units than last week, with figures for every other platform down. The DSi LL falls under the 20K mark, while the Wii sold roughly 10,000 units less than the PS3 this week. Even the PSP Go has seen a little lift in sales.
It's pretty amazing to think of the attention the PSP gets in Japan compared to the West, where a dearth of AAA releases are interspersed with confusing attempts by Sony to market the handheld to the younger audience.
