Sony platforms sell some impressive numbers in this week's Japanese Hardware Chart (26th July - 1st August 2010, courtesy Media Create), with Sengoku Basara 3 and Hatsune Miku: Project Diva 2 working wonders for the PlayStation 3 and PSP respectively. In the PS3's case, sales have more-than-doubled over last week's figures.

Home Console
PS3: 45,224 (19,420)
Wii: 20,038 (21,092)
360: 6,929 (6,056)
PS2: 1,444 (1,475)

Handheld
PSP: 48,603 (28,747)
DSi LL: 23,120 (24,189)
DSi: 17,950 (18,202)
DS Lite: 4,058 (5,059)
PSP Go: 777 (831)

(Previous week's unit sales in brackets for comparison)

The Xbox 360 is the only other console to see a lift in sales from last week, probably from the continuing relative success of Capcom's Monster Hunter release. Every other platform is down, but thankfully for Nintendo not by an outstanding margin.

Wii and PlayStation 3 have been battling for supremacy of the weekly console top spot for the longest time now, so we can never tell how long this lead Sony currently has will last. A new Wii game, a lack of interest for new PS3 product or something entirely different could easily change the stakes. Next week we'll know if the PS3 can maintain this sales swing.
