ELSPA Cheers Prison Term for R4 Game Copier Man
UK games industry body ELSPA (Entertainment and Leisure Software Publishers Association) has given the thumbs-up to the recent sentence passed down top at Hull Crown Court to one Yun Can Meng for importing R4 game copier cards.

On 18th December 2009, a Mr Yun Can Meng pleaded guilty to importing the equipment and was sentence to a whopping 12 months imprisonment. Meng imported more than 26,500 illegal R4 game copier cards, Between June 2008 and August 2009.

Michael Rawlinson, Director General of ELSPA, comments, "Our crime unit is pleased with the outcome of this trial and pleased to see the Court of Appeal’s copyright judgement is being robustly enforced. Intellectual property (IP) theft is an important issue for the country’s videogames industry - as is protecting it."

I thought we had a no-crime policy against actual hardware sales in this country, i.e. shops selling drug paraphenalia can do so as long as they're not selling drugs, or was this guy selling/supplying ROM images too?
