SquareSoft has released several new Final Fantasy images for your perusal. The countdown in Japan is already in full swing for the game with most stores taking pre-orders and sending fulfilment details to Square.
Square has this to say:
“The main character, Tidus, is a star player of blitzball, a hugely popular full-contact sport. Yuna, the female lead, is an honest and determined young woman who learns the secret art of summoning and controlling aeons-powerful spirits of yore. These two people of widely different backgrounds and abilities must work together as they journey through the world of Spira. This installment of FINAL FANTASY features a distinct Asian influence, bringing a fresh feel to the characters, music, settings, and story.”
One of the new snaps show the random battle, an inclusion that surprised many, in full swing. The game will be released in Japan on the 19th of July and will cost around £50 for the double DVD set.
No American or European release date has been set other than sometime in 2002. Don’t hold your breath!
