You're a schmuck because you don't understand why Xbox sales in Japan are notable (as in newsworthy) and significant. Console sales anywhere else in the world are a "Dog bites man" story. Xbox sales in Japan is "Man bites dog"

By reporting the sales figures from Japan, SPOnG was not "touting" Xbox sales, it reported a phenomenon unusual and unexpected enough to be of interest to its readers, no matter what their console of choice is. Sales figures from other regions are regularly reported on as well, they just aren't nearly as interesting as those currently coming out of Japan at the moment. To put it in a current events context, its like if Obama was polling better than McCain in Utah, or conversely, if McCain started picking up points among Chicago blacks. It'd be the same story if the positions were reversed.

So, xbox selling consoles cuzz they picked up 4 or 5 JRpg is A big deal, ....... Microsoft outselling sony is a big deal...... after sony release its console, but sony coming back isnt. I get what u mean. well im sure if you get rrod like i have twice, and im not a fan boy , i had an xbox and ps2 as well, I thought the xbox had better hardware, but I prefered my ps2 cuzz it just was better. Same with xbox 360 and ps3, While I think live is a great online platform for gaming I dont think its the whole package, I can do way more with my ps3, Install Any linux distro, Stream movies from my computer and or pc games, I can store divx movies on my 500g laptop harddrive. Ill be getting play tv which turns my ps3 into a DVr, not to mention wireless hdmi and blueray all built in and wireless controllers that recharge withou replacing a batter, it also syncs with ipods and other mps3 devices 7.1 surround if I wanted to take it to the max, I have the 60 gig model so i can play and playstation game ever made, and it has a media card reader in the front which in turn allows me to take my sd card from my camera and put it in and check out my pictures and or 2 other forms of cards that are stander on the market, also I can use usb hubs and usb sticks to transport aswell, I can go online and read with it. The THing is a monster, Also ,.. my whole libray of music from my computer is streamed to my ps3. and last but not least. i can play ps3 games. and Itoy, ..... I cant do alot of these things with my xbox 360. I also forgot.. The ps3 can print 2.

This guy isn't nearly as intelligent or perceptive as SS4...so putting them in a metaphorical forum jar and watching them fight would be dullsville, SS4 would eat his lunch for him, but hes too thick to know it...plus reading his crap is painful...and we don't need to give SS4 that kind of stimulus anyway, it would only serve to reinforce his own position, since this guy is empirical evidence that Sony fanboys are mental defectives.

Pudge, I think its a shame that you haven't listened and taken onboard my previous post enough, to see that while you might not favour the 360, what's is happening in japan is an economic equivalent of westerners turning up in japan for the first time.

Its no surprise at all for PS3 or Wii/DS/PSP etc to sell in japan, because the japanese are very loyal in that respect to japanese companies and product sometimes.

The only real western product to break the japanese market of late has been the iPod, iPhones etc. For a western console to do the same so far has been an uphill struggle for MS (check the 3DO console to see how had it can be). Now while even I didn't at first dig MS entering the games market, I can happily admit I was wrong now, because of my 360, I've learned to cut those loyalty ties to any console or company (and I was well into Nintendo too), while enjoying something new from MS.

PS2 and PS1 have sold everywhere, so obviously PS3 was expected to do the same. Just look how many developers/publishers backed it, only to loose their fingers in the fire.

These days, I try to hold no loyalties to consoles, and buy them all to get the best of all. Gamers should learn to have open minds, as a console or PC is a door or an open window to games (good or bad).

All consoles have their pros and cons., and more importantly, fun games can be had and played anywhere. I'm glad that japanese gamers are beginning to wake up to 360 for this reason. I'm just sorry you are too blind to see the real big picture of why this news is positive for us all, even you Pudge. Its cool to have your favourites, but just don't get too territorial about it.

Back when Sony entered the games market, against a seasoned game veteran Nintendo, that was the last time such Sony sales were big news, and that was back in the mid-late 90's. With Sony now firmly seated (a decade or so later), its not really news anymore, unless Sony loose their crown somewhat. Even as great a piece of kit as PS3 is, if the games, its primary focus, aren't in good and plentiful supply, not even the Blu Ray film sales will be enough to keep it alive.

The PS3 has not beat the 360 all year in the USA I think it was only around for 2 months that it was selling more but the 360 was still selling a lot as well.

For the PS3 to catch up it will have to triple its sales, or the 360 to stop selling.

If you look at it though all 3 machines are selling extremely well, lets all be greatful that we have consoles that actually have games and are getting support from developers beit a very small selection of developers having a favourite system they wish to develope for.

yeah again.. I dont really care what you think.. or say, I have both systems, these are my opinions, Im not going over and over this again, cuzz every xbox fan need to be rensured that they system doesnt suck all the time,

Ive had 2 rrod, Im a tech so I know how and were to keep my console equipement. I lost all my data off my xbox 360, Then, ... This morning, its not reading disks, i got it back 2 weeks ago man, 2 weeks ago !, If they put right beside the price tag, Your system may fail 2 or 3 times within the next 2 years because we need to get the jump on sony, Which is now kicking them in the ass, I wouldnt of bought it. I do like the 360, but its a piece of garabage at the same time. Seriously

Well, if this happens again for 360, I'd say its highly likely, I'll still say its better for all gamers, and that's my opinion. You are welcome to disagree, I respect your opinion either way.

Like it or not, Wii is already crushing PS3 into the dust, so waving those stats around is pointless. 360 is just adding to that, because many already have Wii/DS/PS3 in japan. Once other big 360 titles hit, those 360 sales will continue, because PS3 has less games, (you can blame Sony for that.
