Something wicked this way comes.

Emily the Strange Video Game in Motion
We were going to say "cult" comic book character, Emily the Strange is to appear in a video game next Summer. But, really, the loveable young goth chick is way beyond cult now. Sure, in a revenue fight with the kitty from Hello Kitty, Emily would get badly harmed... but you get the idea.

Anyway, The New York Daily News recently interviewed Emily's creator, Rob Reger, to find out what is in store for everybody's favourite feline loving adolescent and up popped a video game. Here's what the incredibly sensible sounding Reger has to say:

"I've decided to set up my creative team before I choose who is going to distribute it. I find when I go to the publisher without an initial idea in mind, they tend to want you to work with their people. So I like to set my team up and say what the project is going to be and find the right person who wants to distribute it."

"We're in talks with a number of publishers who are very interested. It's going to be fun … In the video game we plan on using Emily's voice, and in the book you're reading Emily's voice, so the video game is going to step that up. Our goal is to have them both hit the market about the same time by the summer of next year."

Many of SPOnG's staff can't wait next summer to roll around... one, however, has never heard of this Emily character.

I am so pumped about this. Which is mad strange, because this game is surely aimed at disaffected, alientated, adolescent Avril-loving gemo chicks.

In a revenue fight, Hello might have it, but in a good old Cat Fight, Miles would win the day!

It takes a very limited mind to say what you have...Your comments are not only stupid but outright ridiculous.

Thanks for insulting those that might be interested or friends of mine that are into the Gothic scene only because they like the dressing up part and some of the music.

Emily Strange is just part of the Goth scene and is not meant to promote the nonsense or crap you have written.

So if you're such an expert on the gothic movement... it must have been you that designed and printed the ultra rare Sisters of Mercy Body Electric t-shirt, that there were only ever 15 of and each of the band had one? No? Oh, that'll be me then.

Or maybe you've roadied for a band who supported the Mission on tour, and hung out with and played footie with Mick Brown and Wayne Hussey. No? Oh, that'll be me then.

Maybe you've seen the Sisters of Mercy live more than 80 times? No? Oh, that'll be me then.

Johnny come lately.

I didn't mock or deride anyone, and if I were to, goths would hardly by my chosen target. I merely pointed out who this game is aimed at.

It was a little rude though. there's no need to fight, we all have our own opinions on the seperate branches of murky culture.
