Nintendo moves to clarify GameCube E3 position
Annoyingly secretive games giant Nintendo has moved to clarify its position, regarding the showing of the GameCube at E3.

The company’s Japanese head office has gone on record to say that the GameCube will be at the E3 show, but has declined to state whether or not the machine will be in playable form.

Nintendo has also said that it will announce the launch price for the console across all territories and will supply the first instalment of the much needed launch line-up of titles. This will answer the much asked question, asked by all GameCube fans: Will Nintendo move to undercut Sony or will the GameCube launch at £300/$300?

Nintendo is taking the event very seriously. Hiroshi Yamauchi said yesterday, "if the GameCube is not received well at E3, our strategy will be compromised, and that will cause a serious blow to our plans. We may even have to consider pigeonholing the sale of GameCube.”

We think that Yamauchi needs to understand that to be taken seriously, you need to present something to be appraised in the first place. A list of promises and unrealistic release dates is certainly not the way to achieve this goal.
