Following a few weeks suffering beneath the PSP, the Nintendo DS has reclaimed its place at the top of the Japanese hardware Chart.
The DS claims a narrow lead, however, with Nintendo's handheld selling 87,445, just 550 more than the PSP's 86,895. The PSP has been trumping the DS in recent weeks in Japan thanks to the powerhouse combination of the launch of the Slim 'n' Lite and the release of
Final Fantasy VII: Crisis Core. The DS is the only hardware to see a rise in sales, however, with everything else seeing fewer units shipped than last week.
The Wii is still the best selling home console, but it is now selling less than double the numbers of the PS3 compared to a one-time ratio of six to one.
Xbox 360 sales, meanwhile, drop back down to 1,547 following a
boost thanks to
Halo 3.
