We know that the fanboys down at the precinct are waiting with bated breath for the latest console sales figures from the USA so they can flaunt them at each other, so… this week the Nintendo Posse gets bragging rights.
According to the publicity-loving research company, NPD, the Wii reigned supreme in February for the North American consumer.
February is never, by tradition, the best-sellingest of months, what with Christmas over and the next biggest buying season, when prices rise again, Easter just around the corner. So, although sales were down on the previous month, Wii sales of 335,000 (January = 436,000), Xbox 360 sales of 228,000 (294,000), and 127,000 (244,000) PlayStation 3’s finding new homes are not to be sniffed at. Unless you're Sony, of course, in which case seeing sales slip by nearly 50% could cause something of a snort.
