Slashing Blades For Wii?
California-based, Pronto Games has just announced that it plans to bring the swashbuckler’s swashbuckler, Zorro, to the Wii in The Destiny of Zorro later this year.

We’ve been waiting for a good sword-fighting/fencing game for the Wii since playing our first game of rounders (trans: baseball) in Wii Sports. So, our expectations are based mainly on the fact that we’ll get some hackin’ and slashin’ action using the swarthy freedom fighter as our character. However, having looked over Pronto’s press release for the game, this could be a forlorn hope:

“Pronto's game development strategy holds a core belief that video games should be small, fast and fun (SmaFF). These elements almost match the character of Zorro himself.

SPOnG has contacted Pronto to find out more about the notion that ‘Zorro himself’ is “small, fast and fun” – and also regarding the publishing deal for the game in Europe.

Watch out for further news updates on The Destiny of Zorro, due this coming Christmas.

Before we go… Pronto features one of the most fabulously-named people in the entire games industry in Randy Angle (who also helped to develop Lord of the Rings: Two Towers for Stormfront Studios, among others).

Does this mean I get a cool mask when I buy a copy? Ideal for holding up banks, that would be a laugh.

Should be interesting to see what they do with the game. Will it be more hack n' slash like Zelda or Sega's Bleach, or more focused or actually fencing technique?
