SquareSoft has decided to scale down its ambitious movie projects after the Final Fantasy movie ran over budget by $70 million. This caused the company to post its first ever loss recently, an occurrence that greatly embarrassed the members of Square’s board.
The amount of money spent so far on the Final Fantasy movie stands at $140 million, doubling the budget allowed for the film.
