NCsoft Europe can today confirm its attendance at Britain's newest comic exhibition, Comic Expo. A major new comic event in the UK, Comic Expo runs from May 14th to 15th at the British Empire & Commonwealth Exhibition Hall and the Ramada Plaza Hotel in Bristol.
Comic Expo will be attended by a host of prestigious comic creators, including J. Michael Straczynski (Babylon 5, Rising Stars, Midnight Nation), Michael Avon Oeming (Powers), Gary Frank (Supreme Power), Dave Gibbons (Watchmen), Alan Davis (JLA: The Nail, Excalibur) Brian Bolland (Judge Dredd) and many more. With two days of talks, workshops, events and a massive dealer area, there's plenty for all comic fans to enjoy.
Complementing the comics, NCsoft Europe's staff will be on hand to demonstrate the award winning City of Heroes. All visitors to the NCsoft stand will get a chance to play City of Heroes, and they'll take away a demo disc which will allow them to play the game for fourteen days free-of-charge.
Not only that, but they will also be able to take part in heroic player versus player competitions as part of the new Issue #4: Colosseum, and win some fantastic City of Heroes prizes. These include exclusive limited edition Statesman statues, copies of the game and other City of Heroes goodies.
"Although computer and video games have been influenced by comic books since the very beginning, City of Heroes shows its love for comics more than any other," says Mike Allwood, Producer, Comic Expo. "That's why we were delighted to welcome NCsoft Europe to the first ever Comic Expo, and we hope City of Heroes will be a massive hit with our visitors."
"Everyone working on City of Heroes loves comic books," adds Stephen Reid, Content and Community Manager, NCsoft Europe. "We're also huge gaming fans, too; so it makes sense for City of Heroes to be at Comic Expo. We're looking forward to seeing how hardcore comic readers respond to the game, but Comic Expo is also a fantastic way for us to meet existing fans of City of Heroes - who get to experience a huge comic convention, too!"
The NCsoft stand will be located in the Ramada Plaza Hotel for the duration of Comic Expo. Tickets are on-sale now (£5 per day, £10 for the weekend) from the official web site at http://www.comicexpo.net/
