Men of War's story unfolds across Europe at the height of the fighting during World War II. The story develops across three different campaigns played out through the eyes of Allied, Soviet and German soldiers. Each campaign has its own specific timeline, meaning there is a different story of the war to tell, as the tales span Russia, North Africa, Ukraine, Greece, Germany, Italy and the Pacific. The main Soviet campaign sees two student comrades, Smirnov and Kuznetzov, join the army and quickly become brothers in arms as they rise through the ranks and experience the trials and tribulations of war.
Men of War features 50 new units to use, including newly designed tanks, APCs and heavy guns. Dynamic in-game video enhances the solo missions, while the development team has given the sounds of war a boost with over 100 new effects, recorded under real operating conditions. The single player campaign also features a fully customisable user interface so players can set up their preferred way of keeping tabs on what's going on.
Men of War also includes multiplayer maps along with Capture the Flag and High Value Cargo Modes, all faithfully recreated with lovingly rendered graphics and refined AI. A new rating system has also been introduced to ensure a fair fight in online multiplayer battles.
