Summary

In the fantastical world of Enclave, a deep rift in the earth is separating good from evil. The lands of light are prospering and growing. Surrounded by the barren planes of the dark devastated by war, they form an enclave of peace and sincerity. The rift, however, is about to close. From now on, there will be no more peace in everyday life throughout the border lands. Both empires are arming themselves for war.

A third person, 3D action adventure, Enclave delivers the player into this medieval fantasy world. Selecting from 12 different character classes, players embark upon their quest across 24 levels, featuring impressive landscapes, castles, lava caves and city backdrops. Ogres, gnomes, and druids tackle their enemies with numerous weapons and pieces of equipment such as swords, battle axes, and catapults.

After fighting their way out of a prison at the beginning of the game, various different missions are presented to the player, such as defending a certain area or escorting one of the characters to safety, ensuring no harm comes to him. From early on, new playable characters become available, with the option to select between them and subsequently purchase weapons and equipment preceding each mission.

Looking like a typical third person game, Enclave actually has more of a first person feel to it. Control is a lot less awkward than many similar titles and the aiming of weapons such as the bow and arrow is nice and precise.

Frame rates run smoothly and some extremely nice visual effects can be seen, such as pixel shading on water. The addition of professional voice acting, surround SFX and a real-time, interactive soundtrack (a particular favourite of ours) complete the high-quality on the audio side of things. All in all, Enclave is a very solid and well crafted title.
