Snooker is a fantastically addictive sport. Not only is it an enjoyable sport to play but it is also interesting to watch. Have you ever fancied becoming a professional snooker player and winning a couple of hundred thousand pounds for a couple of weeks work? Or dreamed of playing against the best players in the world? If snooker is your cup of tea, this game is definitely for you.

Firstly, World Championship Snooker plays fabulously and successfully captures the feel of the real sport. The physics model is spot on, the balls move exactly as they should and even spin transfer is present. The attention to detail is staggering. This game will help your game of snooker as you learn to judge the potting angle and learn how spin affects the cue ball.

You can choose either a quick, random match, a specific match or take part in a championship. In the game there are 20 professional snooker players to play against including Stephen Hendry and Mark Williams. Be warned though, if you give them a chance they will build a break that will win them the frame. Sticking it to Hendry within the game feels fantastic. The players in the game feel stress like their real life counterparts and act accordingly.

While you are learning to play World Championship Snooker, you can use an aiming guide to help you pot. The harder the shot, the less accurate the aiming system becomes. Once you are competent enough, you can turn it off and see if you can score a century.

Commentary is provided by Dennis Taylor and is implemented intelligently. The animation of the players plus excellent commentary plus realistic gameplay, equals a game that is almost indistinguishable from watching the game on television.

World Championship Snooker for the PC is easily the best version available. The main advantages of the PC release are high-resolution graphics and Internet support. You can now play a game of snooker with a friend in a completely different country. If you’re not a fan of snooker, you will be after playing this mesmerising game.
