Core Design, the developer responsible for the Tomb Raider saga, has once again teamed up with Eidos Interactive to bring us their new 3D adventure, Project Eden.

Earth is severely over-populated and it is up to you, as a member of the Urban Protection Agency, to ensure peaceful times. Upon arrival at one of your missions, you find that the staff at the Real Meat factory have gone AWOL. It is here that you embark upon an adventure to expose the mysteries on your future planet.

Developed across a number of platforms, the PlayStation 2 version is quite possibly the most enhanced production. Much of the graphical processing power is spent on character animations, whereby the characters have recent mapping technologies, skinning techniques and morphing qualities incorporated into them. But the game surroundings are also lush, and boast vast environments that show little or no pop-up and are highly detailed and textured.

Control plays a major part in Project Eden and the game shows some advances that Core were unable to execute properly in the Tomb Raider games. Players can now participate in the adventure in both the first and third person; the first person allowing the player to view their own feet and torso. This feature alone increases the variety in gameplay considerably. Your adventure will see you venturing into the combat genre, as well as solving puzzles and tackling the platform elements of the game.

Project Eden takes everything that was lacking from the Tomb Raider games and puts them into a thoroughly enjoyable experience.
