Summary

Compared to most other popular game genres, survival horror has never been quite as saturated, so it's always nice when a new title arrives that promises lots of atmosphere, suspense, scary monsters, and big guns. Run Like Hell does just that, delivering a frightening sci-fi adventure in which you must try and stay alive and combat danger that lurks behind every corner. Gulp!

Players take on the role of Nick Connor, a military hero exiled to a desolate mining station in deep space. Returning from a routine mission, Nick finds everyone on the station either dead or dying, wiped out by a vicious and intelligent alien race. From here on, he must attempt to find any survivors, investigate how the aliens managed to get on the station and - wait for it - wipe them out!

The game itself takes the form of third-person adventure, featuring full 3D environments (as opposed to the Resident Evil pre-rendered standard) that are captured by dynamic cameras throughout. Hence a more cinematic experience is to be had, which adds to the game's intensity.

There are a total of seven chilling chapters to play through, making up over 20 hours worth of gameplay. Throughout, an assortment of intelligent and brutal aliens must be faced that learn from player actions and adapt to become even more deadly.

Run Like Hell is fairly polished throughout, boasting a wealth of top Hollywood voice talent, such as Lance Henriksen, Kate Mulgrew, and Clancy Brown. It has been likened to both Aliens and The Thing - if this is your bag then you should definitely check it out.
