Interplay Entertainment Corp today announced the sneak showing of its first title for the PlayStation 2 computer entertainment system - the science-fiction, survival-horror game entitled Run Like Hell.
The state-of-the-art title will contain real 3D environments, feature incredibly dynamic camera angles throughout, and take place entirely from a third person perspective. Veterans of the small and big screens, Lance Henriksen, Clancy Brown and Cree Summer, have all lent the voices to this high profile project. It's been likened to an Aliens versus The Thing action-adventure. And in this world, there are things far worse than death.
With an anticipated release date of the spring of 2003, this bold new title is expected to be the first internally developed game to launch under Interplay's newly created division, Digital Mayhem. Focusing almost exclusively on next generation console titles, Digital Mayhem is being headed up by industry veteran, Jim Molitor. "As we expand our market share in console gaming, it's critical to have top quality products early in the life cycle of a new platform," stated Molitor. "We have, therefore, taken some of our best and brightest internal development teams, hired additional staff, and aligned ourselves with exceptional external developers in order to provide us with the strong line-up necessary for PlayStation 2 and beyond."
With several other titles in development for next generation console systems, Digital Mayhem will be making much more noise in very short order.
