Summary

Oni is essentially a 3D fighting game with hand-to-hand combat and devastating weapons. This is action and we know you love it. Watch out Lara, you have some serious competition on your hands. Based on anime films like Ghost in the Shell and action blockbusters like La Femme Nikita, Oni is a PlayStation 2 title to watch out for. The game is set in the year 2032 and you assume the role of Konoko, an elite agent with a mission to infiltrate and eradicate an evil crime syndicate.

Oni is an easy game to learn but a difficult one to master. Konoko has many attacks at her disposal and she learns new attacks and skills throughout the game. Konoko can only carry one weapon at a time so use your limited arsenal carefully. You can always grab your enemies’ weapons and use the new guns against them, which is a nice touch. A good training mode is included to help you get to grips with this title.

There are 17 levels in Oni that have been designed by real architects so you can expect some seriously good level design with both indoor and outdoor environments. The in-game full-motion video is also well done and worth watching. The graphics are well rendered and the character animation is smooth and stylised.

If you need an action-adventure fix with good graphics and gameplay for your PlayStation 2, Oni is it!
