Summary

Croc: Legend Of The Gobbos is a classic tale of good versus evil, given an appealingly cartoon-like dusting down. The pre-amble goes something like this: The Gobbos were a peaceful race, living the quiet life, who spent their time inventing such everyday essentials as edible deodorant and wind powered cow moistener. King Rufus happened upon the young Croc as he floated upstream in a basket, seemingly abandoned. Like all good, kind souls, The Gobbos took him in, and raised him as their own. Croc actually thought he was a Gobbo himself, which is why he had no hesitation in helping their cause when trouble came to the valley.

Said trouble arrived in the shape of the Dantinis, minions of the evil Baron Dante, bent on destruction, looting, and generally causing much sorrow. Swarming through the valley, the Dantinis caught all the Gobbos they could lay their filthy hands on and imprisoned them. The last words uttered to Croc by Rufus, the King of the Gobbos, were ‘You are our only hope’. Croc was not about to let his adopted family down, so under the guidance of Beany the Bird, he set out to free the Gobbos.

And so the scene is set. You are charged with helping Croc, the crusading crocodile, rescue his peace-loving Gobbo friends from the grasp of the evil Baron Dante. Guide him through beautifully-rendered 3D worlds, on a free-wheeling, free-roaming adventure against the evil Baron and his wicked assistants, the Dantinis.

There are five worlds to explore, including volcanoes, ice glaciers and underwater caves. All this and more than forty levels to play through, with enemies galore and at least eight stage bosses to keep you occupied, Croc is, by turns, a riveting and heart-warming experience.
