Metal Gear Solid, The Movie - Kojima-san Kicks Boll Into Touch

Useless film-maker allowed nowhere near MGS.

There has been much Interweb rumour of late about the possibility of talentless game-into-movie hack Uwe Boll as possibly directing the forthcoming movie version of Konami’s stealth-em-up classic Metal Gear Solid.

Indeed, it would seem that most of these rumours were started by the somewhat deluded Boll himself. SPOnG hoped, nay prayed, that the director of such disasters as the recent Alone in the Dark and House of the Dead movies would not be allowed to do another hatchet job on one of our favourite franchises.

Well, the good news today is that he definitely won't be allowed anywhere near it. And this is straight from the horse’s mouth: Hideo Kojima, the stern-faced stealthmeister himself, announced on his audio-blog that the hapless German had neither been approached with the possible idea of directing an MGS movie, nor would he ever be.

Kojima had the following to say on the matter: "Absolutely not! I don't know why Uwe Boll is even talking about this kind of thing. We've never talked to him. It's impossible that we'd ever do a movie with him."

Huzzah! Thank the lord of stealth for that. More anti-Uwe Boll news whenever and wherever we next hear he's even so much as looking at a packshot!

If you actually had ever seen a Boll movie you would know that he is just terribly misunderstood in Hollywood and in the gaming community. He is truly an unappreciated Genious that has a long term vision that he will do anything to live out. He is simply trying to stay true to the roots of game to movie conversions by picking up all the game franchises that actually have enough content to make a good movie and does everything he can to make the movies horrible. It is genious. Imagine what would happen if you could spend 15 hours to play a nearly flawless game or could spend 2 hours to watch it...most folks would rather get it out of the way in 2 hours.

Its the same thing with books. Why read if you can knock out the movie in 2 hours. I mean he is saving the game industry from the marketing monster that has destroyed hollywood. Just imagine if a good movie was made from a great game and marketing was allowed to step in. Marketing would suck all the life out of each and every character that we love to play.

So to Boll, I salute you and say thanks for trying to keep the divide between good games and good movies so obvious. If it wherent for you marketing whores and hollywood types would get involved and destroy the last great medium. I mean its all for the greater good.

You really think Boll was actually trying to make good movies? He is just a visionary.
