Just as Sony is preparing to unveil the full 100 strong line-up of games currently in development for the PSP, it has issued an updated list of confirmed titles. Amongst these new announcements are a few surprises as well as a few more predictable revelations.
Most intriguingly, there are several games in the list that are usually associated with large, anti-handheld peripherals. Taiko Drum Master and Fishing Rod Collection (judging by the name) are traditionally best enjoyed with the relevant accessories, and similarly Densha De Go (a cult Japanese train-driver simulator!) definitely works best with a bespoke locomotive cockpit. Perhaps when Kutaragi-san spoke of how the PSP would be best enjoyed from the sofa at home, he had possibilities like this in mind?
Back to the more standard selection of new titles, there are some tasty selections. King Of Fighters and Tenchu both have established fan bases, and a Sony MMORPG will surely be worth closer examination. It will also be interesting to see if Atari’s ‘unknown driving action title’ turns out to be a portable rendition of Driv3r or som3thing else entirely.
Expect more PSP action as TGS gets underway later in the week. Here's the new additions to the roster for your perusal in the meantime.
