It seems that Bioware is having a good time of it at the moment. Amongst their back-catalogue of well-respected RPG’s, titles like the record-breaking Knights of the Old Republic have helped bolster their solid reputation even further. In fact, business is so good, they can’t keep up with the offers being hurled in their direction. Greg Zeschuk, CEO of Bioware, summed it up in a suitably smug fashion:

“Bio Ware is currently in the fortunate position of having more attractive looking opportunities on the table than we’re capable of implementing…we are interested in exploring ways in which Bioware can expand its capacity to bring these projects to market.”

This could work out very well for Obsidian, who should be offered plenty of lucrative development business as Bioware ‘s excess projects mount up. Feargus Urquhart, CEO of Obsidian was clearly pleased to capitalise on the opportunity to work on ‘established game franchises with proven technology and brand loyalty from the fan community.’

It’s not yet been decided how the projects will be divided up, but we’ll keep you updated.
