Microsoft UK has sent out invites to its uber-jolly X03, the latest European Xbox event.
As you may recall, we attended X01 at Pierre Cardin’s Cannes villa, and X02, where Microsoft took over Spain’s biggest theme park, even re-branding the waste bins and cups.
Well, yesterday we received invites to the next bash, cunningly named X03. You may have read on some sites that the location of this event is top secret. This is not exactly true, it’s just that no-one asked. And although the specific place was not disclosed, we were told today that a location in the south of France has been penned in. X03 will take place on September 16-17.
Microsoft usually likes to make a major announcement at these events, so perhaps we’ll see Xbox 2/Xbox Next/Project Xenon or hopefully a pre-Christmas peek at the cut-down version of the original unit, complete with upgraded video-out, as revealed here several months ago.
In terms of Software, expect a slew of new stuff, perhaps even a glimpse of OutRun 2 or Halo 2. Expect full coverage as it happens.
And Ed, if you’re reading, we’d appreciate a mention this year, as the Rare deal that we broke last year when announced was somewhat lacking!
