Not to be cynical about this but who watches 3D Blu-rays? OK, pipe down. Some of you do. But really, is providing the Xbox One with the ability to play a format drenched in Sony royalty payments can't have been top of Microsoft's list of priorities.
Yes, despite shipping with a Blu-ray disc player onboard as we head full on into the age of download/streaming Microsoft won't be adding 3D at launch.
"A Microsoft rep told CNET that the Xbox One doesn't support playback of 3D Blu-rays, though the company hadn't ruled out adding the feature in the future," said CNET.

Not really as I have a PS3 that can, and I assume the PS4 will as well

This really isn't that big of a deal. But on that note, neither will the PS4. PS4 will support 3D Blu Ray games at launch, but not 3D Blu Ray Movies.
