In a recent interview with Mr. Phil Harrison of Microsoft, the possibility of a new Xbox One launch window was hinted, we think it might see its release in October. When Harrison was why there wasn't an Xbox One release date during the recent gamescom Xbox One chat, he replied with, "We have said November, and we continue to say November", that sounds definite. But...
The interviewer then went on to question 'Isn't it a little overdue? Surely we're on the cusp of a release date announcement?', to which Harrison said "We will make an announcement in due course. There are a certain number of marketing reasons why we still haven't announced a launch date, but we continue to say November.".
Now, during Sony's Gamescom presentation yesterday,
the release date of the PS4 was revealed; 15th November in the USA and 29th November in Europe. As Mr. Harrison said, "We have said November" - that doesn't mean November is set in stone.
Let's think about this, November is a bit late for folk to be heading out and spending a large chunk of their cash - most people like to get their Christmas presents earlier than that.
You may have picked up that Harrison mentioned "a certain number of marketing reasons why we still haven't announced a launch date". Well, we think there's just one "marketing reason" - Sony.
Now that Microsoft knows that the PS4 will be released in November, we think they'll bring the Xbox One out in October time. Don't take our opinion though, there's a lovely comments section just below here - what do you guys think?
