Microsoft is to reimburse some Xbox 360 owners who paid over the odds for products and services offered via the updated Xbox 360 user experience dashboard this week.Yesterday
we reported that a change to the Xbox 360 dashboard has been brought in to usher the new age where Microsoft Points are to be thrown away to be replaced by actual money - very probably due to Chinese currency legislation but more on that later. Sadly, however, this resulted in price distortions - e.g higher prices for some items. Microsoft comments:
"We are aware that select regions experienced some incorrect game title pricing in the Xbox Live beta. This was an unintended error that we are in the process of fixing.
"We'll be reimbursing impacted beta participants for the difference in what was paid and what the price will be after the update is available to all members," it added to
CVG before stating:
"Of note, beta programs give us a chance to test, fix and correct issues like this. As with all betas, we take the learnings from our program and make corrections and adjustments prior to the update being available to all members. As always, we appreciate the participation of our beta customers in helping us launch and build great products."
As for Chinese currency... we have a big, big news story on that one coming up.
