The rush to farewell former Don Mattrick, Microsoft head of Interactive Entertainment Business Division - and the man widely held responsible for the Xbox One's early, disastrous, strategy, is done. Don heads off to ailing Zynga as Steve Ballmer is set to appoint his replacement who comes over from Windows.
Mattrick's replacement is thought to be Windows chief Julie Larson-Green. Yes, a woman in games. A major business professional woman heading up the entire Xbox business.Bloomberg
kicked this tale off, stating: "Ballmer may also give Windows chief Julie Larson-Green oversight of hardware engineering for the whole company, said one of the people, who asked not to be named because the plans are private. Ballmer is expected to reveal a reorganization as early as next week that aligns Microsoft’s business units around devices and services, the people said."
At the moment of course, the man looking after the injured Xbox rep is... Steve Ballmer.
