Some Ouya Kickstarter Backers Still Waiting For Their Console

Ouya has launched to some success - with reports that the Android-powered system has sold out on Amazon and GameStop's US websites - but it appears that some Kickstarter backers are still waiting for their guaranteed consoles to arrive.

According to an update to the Ouya's Kickstarter page (only visible to backers), founder Julie Uhrman relayed her concerns over not being able to deliver systems some of the many funders of the project. "I am pissed," she wrote. "Some of you have not yet received your Ouya - and, to you, I apologise. I did not promise to ship to most of you before we hit store shelves. I promised to ship to all of you."

The delay in delivery has been pinned on a Chinese partner, as well as delivery company DHL. Head of operations Ken Stephens added, "Over the past few months, we encountered and conquered many challenges spanning both hardware and software in order to bring the best product we could to market.

"We have tried to make sure that the challenges we faced did not impact our early supporters, but unfortunately we came up short." Let's hope all this gets resolved soon.
