Reggie Fils-Aime is certainly earning his executive dollars this week, as the Nintendo of America president has been on the charm offensive following the Wii U launch in the US. The latest claim from the Regginator is that Call of Duty: Black Ops II looks better on Nintendo's platform than on competing consoles.
"The specs are quite different than the competitive systems, much more graphically intensive," he told CNN (via VG247). "If you do a side-by-side comparison you would see that third-party games like Call of Duty look dramatically better on our system."
Wii U has been derided by developers for its CPU, which is allegedly less powerful than the PS3 and Xbox 360, but is said to make up for it by including twice the amount of RAM. Any Wii U game able to outperform Sony and Microsoft's consoles will have been coded with the platform's unique architecture in mind.
What do you think? Is he stretching the truth a little bit? Does the Wii U pack more horsepower than a powerful horse? Thankfully, there are some comparison videos on YouTube that can help you decide for yourself. Another comparison can be found on Eurogamer.
well I have not viewed them side by side, but have owned all previous for PS360 and can honestly say that the Wii U has better colours and higher looking rez then the previous ones. Wii u is a great system and the games do look better on it then current gen systems. these are launch games as well people think about how crappy launch games looked on PS360. this system has more power on tap. But if you want the absolute best graphics then obviously the wii u will be bested by the 720 PS4 and PC. But you will not be playing no FULL HD Mario on those suckers.
