It's not easy to defend dialogue such as "I am the hunter! Why am I being hunted!?" but, bless 'em the developer of Capcom's next big thing is doing its best.
Jean-Maxime Moris is the creative director of Dontnod Entertainment - which is developing the Dystopian future blah blah blah, memory loss and gain game (more here on the detail), Remember Me in which the lead character - Nilin (played by Welsh actress Kezia Burrows) - spouts that rather cumbersome line of dialogue.
Let's have a look and listen:
Unsurprisingly the dialogue has been criticised as being on the heavily-becheezed side. Not so says Msr Moris. Or rather, if you think negatively, it's probably your own psychology and not the limited range of the dialogue writer that is to blame.
He told Eurogamer, "I won't deny the fact these comments have been made. I've seen them online. But I've had other people say it was actually very good and well written.
"I don't mind the criticism. It's constructive and I definitely listen to it. It's stuff we will look at in terms of seeing, okay, how many times does that comment come up? How many times did the opposite comment come up? Bearing in mind most of the time people who log in to post a comment do so to react - that's completely out of the realm of video games, more psychology - react to show difference rather than enthusiasm and going with it.
"There's a fine line between keeping your eyes shut and your ears closed, which is a bad thing, and thinking the second you see a comment or an article, go, we need to change everything."

The dialogue from Nilin was a little hard to swallow, from the other characters it seemed okay, but from her it was lacking, which is a shame because otherwise I am pumped for this game.
