Microsoft to set up new Xbox production plant in Asia
Microsoft MD of Japan, Hirohisa Ohura, has declared that the company is looking to set up an Xbox production facility in Asia to supply consoles and peripherals to the Japanese marketplace.

"We are looking for a production base in Asia. At some point, production in Hungary and Mexico would become insufficient," Ohura said.

Production of the machines for the American and European markets has been outsourced to Flextronics who have production plants in Mexico and Hungary. Estimates for Japanese launch availability of the machine have settled at around 300,000 at day one. Current production output would not enable this to be realised as the Hungary plant is gearing up for the European launch of the Xbox.
