Remember that 56-page document that detailed all of Microsoft's apparent plans for its next Xbox console? We all wondered whether it was authentic or not. Well, Microsoft seems to have taken a step towards confirming its legitimacy - the company has ordered a Czech Republic website to take down a copy of the so-called "IEB Roadmap".Technology site
Ihned.cz was struck with a takedown notice which stated that Microsoft claimed ownership of the document. It follows a similar notice from law firm Covington & Birling LLP that was sent to the origin of the leak, Scribd.
Most telling however is the statement Microsoft issued to
Eurogamer - the company wants everyone's eyes looking straight ahead. "We understand there is great interest and anticipation for what comes next for Xbox and we are lucky to have customers who are so passionate about the platform.
"Today, there has never been a better time to own an Xbox 360 console. We have found new ways to extend the console lifecycle by introducing controller-free experiences with Kinect and we've re-invented the console with a new dashboard and new entertainment content partnerships.
"We are continually thinking about the future of the platform and when we have something to share, we will."
Basically: 'Ignore what you just saw! Look at this little rabbit! Look at it! Look how it bounces around the place. Oh, you silly rabbit. Have you forgotten about that thing yet?"
