Despite real world events, it appears that some people would still like to use the term 'evil' in a description of a video game that concerns guns, fighting and general warfare. In this case it's DICE head honcho Patrick Bach pre-emptively dealing with an possible Internet onslaught regarding Battlefield 3's mulitplayer on console versus PC.The console version of the title will have a maximum of 24 players versus the PC's 64. It will also have 'compact maps'.
Mr Bach explains, "Everything is a compromise. It's not that we're evil or stupid. We didn't choose not to have more players - we would love to do 64 players on console but then we would have to cut away so much; people would get very upset that it looked worse, played worse and wasn't as fun as the PC version. We would never do that because the fun is always more important."
Sadly, he's probably right in his reaction. Somewhere, someone on an Internet forum will construe basic facts of technology with 'evil'.
