Following revelations that Capcom is refusing to allow gamers to reset their data on Resident Evil: The Mercenaries 3D, at least one UK retailer is stating that it will refuse to accept trade-in copies of 3DS game.Capcom has already denied that the saves-to-cart technique has anything to do with stopping resale of the title. However, this has not stopped HMV's PR lead, Gennaro Castaldo, telling VG247 that to “avoid any potential customer disappointment for those purchasing a pre-owned version” his company won't accept trade-ins.
We've spoken with a source close to another major High Street retail chain which is currently unable to tell us whether it has formulated a policy on trade-ins of the 3DS game.
