Inafune Warns of Future Industry Clashes
Keiji Inafune, the producer who left Capcom after falling out with management has warned that other publishers can expect the same treatment from its developers as social gaming becomes more prominent.

Formerly the head of research and development at Capcom who forced development of Lost Planet and Dead Rising by overspending on prototypes, Inafune revealed that his first projects as an independent will be a social networking game that will launch in Japan later this month. He is also planning a role-playing title for the PS3, to hit in August.

"In this industry, it’s often the creators who have the eye for potential hits but they’re not the ones deciding what gets published,” said Inafune in an interview last week, as reported by Bloomberg. "We’ll see many more clashes as creator- management divides widen."

What does Capcom have to say about all of this though? "There is no need to dwell on the past," spokesperson Ryosuke Tanaka, explained. “The company has moved on to working on future growth strategy, creating a new development organization and managerial structure."
