Still twiddling your thumbs waiting for the PlayStation Network to be thrust back into life? Well, we hope you have a backup plan, because Sony has told Bloomberg that things may not be fully operational until the end of the month. The bad news came from Tokyo-based spokesperson Shigenori Yoshida, who told the financial outlet in a phone conversation that "Sony is uncertain when it can resume" PSN and Qriocity services.
Rather, it is "in the process of adopting an improved security system and its plan to restart the services fully by May 31 is unchanged."
Sony had
previously announced that a 'limited' form of PSN would be live by the end of last week, but that was before
all hell started to break loose with further Sony Online Entertainment and internal sweepstake database breaches.
Of course, there's nothing to stop PSN from coming back in a limited form before the May 31st date - Yoshida did use the phrase "restart the services fully," after all - but the lack of news on even a revised rollout date will surely make players concerned of having an internet blackout for six weeks.
