DICE’s general manager Karl Magnus Troedsson is on a bit of a rampage. Having already called developers of FPS rivals to his company's Battlefield 3 lazy, he's had another pop at his peers, accusing them of "not innovating" and "treading water".“The competitors out there are established and they’re very, very big”, Troedsson told
games.on.net.
“We believe that they are not innovating, that they are treading water. We are investing our time, energy and money in actually innovating.”
The real competition, of course, is always yourself. “Every time that we release a new game, we ask ourselves – what can we do better? What can we make faster? More fun? So, first and foremost we always compete with ourselves,” Troedsson said. EA might not see it that way, but never mind.
Troedsson recently
claimed that, "Our competitors are getting lazy." Lots of fighting talk flying about, isn't there?
Troedsson also noted that
Battlefield 3 is the "real" sequel to
Battlefield 2, discounting the
Bad Company series.
