Sony Granted Access to GeoHot Website, Visitor IP Addresses
After being denied just a month ago, Sony has been granted access to PlayStation 3 hacker George Hotz's website, along with the right to acquire and track the IP addresses of its visitors.

Sony was recently denied the opportunity to subpoena internet giants Google, Twitter and YouTube in its ongoing court case against Hotz. But that was last month.

On Thursday, federal Magistrate Joseph Spero seemed to forget about such things as precedents and gave Sony the green light on the exact same subpoenas.

It gives the PlayStation company the power to sift through Geohot.com's host Bluehost - which includes all server logs, IP addresses, account information and registration forms - as well as Google in regards to logs for Hotz's personal blog, YouTube for a video the hacker posted and a Twitter account attributed to his name.

It was only going to get messier. At least Geohot could make an unprecedented career as a rapper.

Why do Sony need this information? how does it have any relevance to suing Geohot or any hacking group, this is massive invasion of privacy, legal go ahead or not..

I gusse they can clean up just a little mess with this information to track and switch off some using the information for purpose's which they dont like, all depends what you agree with whats best, not that everyone who visits or use's his information for piracy im sure.
