Everybody likes Nintendo of America top-guy, Reggie Fils-Aime. But somebody might have to explain to him how the free market works. Two things Reggie (1) Business is risk (2) unless you want god-darned Communism, the consumer is king.
We mention these two handy tips because Reggie has explained to the
GameTrailers advertising site that one of the biggest threats to the games industry is that consumers are a bit thick and they might want to pay the same for a AAA console game as they do for an iPhone/iPad/iPod game.
Thus spake Reg' (as transcribed by

"I actually think that one of the biggest risks today in our industry are these inexpensive games that are candidly disposable from a consumer standpoint.
"
Angry Birds is a great piece of experience (Trans: 'Game') but that is one compared to thousands of other pieces of content (Trans: 'Games') that for one or two dollars I think actually create a mentality for the consumer that a piece of gaming content should only be two dollars.
"I actually think some of those games are overpriced at one or two dollars but that's a whole different story."
How is that then?
